PROGRAM FACILITATOR – Full Time

The responsibilities include (not limited to):
- Lead Fly Program retreat planning and execution for The Fly Program’s Men In Flight and AgSpirit retreats primarily in the NSW Snowy Mountains.
- Lead the facilitation of Fly Program core activities of fly fishing, mountain biking, hikes and campfire cooking (training can be provided) in multi-day retreat settings.
- Manage pre and post program guest communications.
- Manage program equipment including all inventory held in our storage facility.
- Lead Program Volunteers pre-retreat, during retreats and post-retreats.
- Other activities outside of the retreats as required.
The ideal candidate:
- Must embrace The Fly Program mission.
- Applicants should have Australian citizenship, or permanent Australian residency status
- Must have knowledge and experience in fly fishing, mountain bike riding, outdoor operations (training can be provided for the right candidate).
- Has strong logistics skills to plan and manage a calendar of retreat programs.
- Proven ability to teach skills to groups.
- Posses high EQ and have the ability to work and partner with a diverse range of people with empathy, insight and understanding
- Must be open minded and possess the skills to motivate staff and volunteers.
- Must be able to work professionally and productively with board members.
- Must be a born “self-starter” and goal-driven.
- Must be open-minded with an innovative mind-set.
- Must be organised, exhibit exceptional follow through, and have a willingness to get their hands dirty.
- Must demonstrate professional conduct and excellence.
The other requirements are:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel (nationally) including for multi-day retreats.
- Valid driver’s licence and transportation and mobile phone.
- Suitable professional and personal references.
- Flexible schedule and availability (including public holidays and weekends).

The position logistics:
- Full-time – the role is 40 hours a week, (but won’t be standard Mon-Fri 9-5).
- Role is based out of our head office in Jindabyne, NSW.
- Potential ability to work partly from home. (In person attendance to all programs is required)
- Company 4x4 provided for work-based commitments
- $70,000 per year including superannuation.

‘Fly Volunteers’ – Part-time
We are seeking to build a very special team of men and women to support our community work.
We have opportunities for volunteers at a number of levels within the organisation. From helping our team host retreats (men and women), supporting fundraising programs, to ensuring program equipment inventory is always ready to go in our warehouse.
You will be working with one of the most innovative and fast growing not-for-profits in Australia and enjoying the opportunity to gain professional development and growth, working with an organisation that is making a real difference in the community.
The responsibilities include (not limited to):
- Attend and support facilitators to host Fly Program Men In Flight and AgSpirit retreats, primarily in the NSW Snowy Mountains.
- Support participants to learn and enjoy Fly Program core activities of fly fishing, mountain biking, hikes and campfire cooking (training can be provided) in multi-day retreat settings.
- Support facilitators with operational support during retreats
- Support the operation of our inventory held in our storage facility.
- Work with other volunteers during retreats.
The ideal candidate:
- Must embrace The Fly Program mission
- It is favourable to have attended a program as a participant
- Applicants should be 18 years or older and be an Australian Citizen, or Permanent Resident.
- Favourable to have knowledge and experience in fly fishing, mountain bike riding, outdoor operations (training can be provided for the right candidate).
- Empathy to learn and build confidence to support our team to facilitate outdoor skills and experiences with participants.
- Must be open minded and possess the skills to work with other staff and volunteers.
- Must be able to undertake duties with professionalism
- Must be a born “self-starter” and people-driven.
- Must be open-minded with an innovative mind-set.
- Must exhibit willingness to get their hands dirty.
- Must demonstrate professional conduct.
The other requirements are:
- Ability and willingness to travel (nationally) including for multi-day retreats (travel compensation can be provided).
- Valid driver’s licence and transportation and mobile phone.
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Flexible schedule and availability (retreats very often are hosted over weekends).
