Matt Tripet

Matt Tripet was brought up with a strong affinity with the mountains and was always destined to do something special through them.

As a young adult, Matt completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of New England and later attained international credentials as a fly casting instructor and guide based in the NSW Snowy Mountains.

Matt is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit, The Fly Program, and has gained wide reaching recognition for social innovation programs that change people’s lives through process driven experiences in ‘wilderness classrooms’ with no walls or boundaries.

Matt is an innovator in every sense of the word. He started The Fly Program in 2016 after witnessing his wife’s family suffer with the impact of suicide, losing a beloved brother. Despite the hundreds of mental health-related nonprofits, and the millions spent every year, the statistics regarding male adult help-seeking was falling and suicide rates were growing rapidly. In response to these staggering statistics, Matt created a nonprofit with programming that was unlike anything else out there, focusing on culture based, peer-led early intervention programs delivered in the outdoors.
